Dr. Tao Jia is the Professor in the College of Computer and Information Science. He obtained his bachelor degree in Physics from Nanjing University (China) in 2004. During 2004 to 2011, he studied in Virginia Tech (U.S.A.) and obtained the master’s degree in Physics, the master’s degree in Industrial and System Engineering and the Ph.D. in Physics. After Ph.D. graduation, he worked as the postdoctoral fellow in Northeastern University (U.S.A) from 2011 to 2013 and in Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (U.S.A) from 2013 to 2015. In 2015, Dr. Jia joined Southwest University (China). Dr. Jia’s research interest focuses on complex networks and complex systems. He has published as the first author in top journals such as Nature Human Behaviour (1 paper, also being the co-corresponding author), Nature Communications (1 paper) and Physical Review Letters (2 papers, also being the co-corresponding author). Dr. Jia was granted the 2010 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Chinese Students Study Abroad. He was selected by ‘the 1000 young talents plan’ in 2015.
